Overview

The Department of Professional Education Studies is the hub of teacher professional identity and continuous growth at UNITE. It bridges the gap between subject content knowledge and the broader professional, ethical, and reflective dimensions of teaching. The Department equips student teachers and in-service educators with the theoretical foundations, educational psychology, research skills, and professional competencies needed to become transformative practitioners — teachers who not only transmit knowledge but inspire learners and lead positive change in their schools and communities.

It supports the Institute’s mandate to implement CPD in collaboration with the National Teachers Council (NTC), and plays a central role in UNITE’s research agenda, facilitating staff and student research, publications, and academic conferences.
